FINAL REFLECTION

1ST POST


This year we made just two presentations. But if I compare my first presentation with the second, I could say that I've improved a lot.
First of all, the pronouncement of words, and my accent were not very good, but as I was practicing, I think that now, my accent is more better.
Then the vocabulary, I have learned a lot of new words this year, now I do not use a simple vocabulary like before.
After this school year , I don not have problems to talk and interact with people in English.
And finally, it notes that I've always had problems with verb conjugation when  I spoke, because I did not know which verbal form I had to use, and now, I have improved a little bit with this problem.

I think this is the best writing I've done because I show a good level of English, using the right words for this context.
After being out all year by writing, I think that this formal letter, is one of the best essays than I've done.

Jews, Muslims face increasing French discrimination, racism – Council of Europe- Human Rights News

SUMMARY

This news talks about France, a  country that discriminates  minority groups such as now the Gypsies, Muslims and Jews.
In France, Jewish and Muslims cemeteries are destroyed. For this reason, the  French President Francois Hollande  says that in this country is increasing a lot racism, and the nation will be destroyed because of this. 
Also note that there are other factors that trigger acts of discrimination in France, for example sexual orientation of an individual.

OPINION

This news makes reference to one of the most common problems that we find in the world, the discrimination, which is a human right that may not be violated.
Therefore,  belongs to the Human Right number 2, which says that everyone has the right and freedoms, without any kind of distiction ,like color, sex, language, religion ..

And I agree with this, because everybody should have equal rights and live in equality, after all we are all equal.

Human Rights

Human Rights are principles or rules describing the way in which you have to incur a human.
They based on the respect for people. Its premise is that every human being must be treated with dignity.
Their name is Human Rights because they are universal and also because they are rights to which everyone is entitled.
In 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration 
of Human Rights, which represents a common standard to be attained by all peoples and nations.

In total there are 30 Human Rights.

For me, the best Human Right is number 4 (No slavery).

It's about the slavery of human persons. Currently, in least developed countries there are a lot of young children who are under the power of others.  And this doesn't have to be because we live in a free world, we must all live our lives.
This video makes us reflect on how bad people become.
In conclusion, no one deserves this.
For this, the sentence of Human Rights number 4, has a very direct message:
Shall one not be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade Shall Be Their prohibited in all form.

DESCRIPTION OF A PERSON

Isaac, my best friend, is 19. He has got brown short hair, fair eyes and a little nose like a potato.
He has got well built complexion. He is quite tall and looks really atractive when we go out with girls.
Currently , he is studying English in London and in summer he comes back to Spain and works as an assistant chef in a kitchen of a Restaurant or Bar.
He likes playing football a lot, when he was 15 ,he played with a FC.Girona Team , and he also was in the Catalan Selection .
But when he started smoking , he left everythins and after he broke his leg ,and he never a played football again.
Isaac is a very good friend , he always helps me when I have got bad moments and also because he has got a big sense of humour.
He doesn´t care where we are, it doesn`t matter if we are in the Police Station or we are in a Supermarket.
He is hiperaclive, he is never quiet. Isaac is also an intelligent man, but he doesn`t live studying, for this reason his mother sent him to England.
I admire him because he is very energetic and also because I know him since 2005, and he has always been here, and when we have any problem, our parents know that we are together.

TALK WITH NOA

What  Noa has done it is very nice. I think that it is a good idea to go away to another country for such of disconnecting a litlle bit of the people of here. In addition, she is improving her English and this will be helpful in the future. Also because she has found work.
Still, the girl misses her family and friends. And this one is the only problem that exists at the moment of doing a Gap Year.
In conclusion, I liked talking on skype with her and I hope that everything is going well and she comes back soon.

RESEARCH PROJECT

My research project talks about the protest songs in the 20th Century, generally located in the United States.
The objective of this topic is to learn a little bit more about songs and the 20th Century demonstrations.
The first section of this project talks about the origins of protest songs. Then, it continues with the types of protest around the world and the most common genres.
The second part deals with the most influential countries.
And the last part, was the analysis of the most influential protest songs through the lyrics because they used a lot of metaphors and keywords to understand the society of the 20th Century.

SELF EVALUATION

This second quarter I made the presentation about my research project which is about the protest songs of the 20th century, generally located in the United States.

In this Presentation: I used a Power Point, because when I present, It  was always has good graphics, and It easy to work with this. Although, this time the Power Point had very little information, therefore, this part is necessary to improve it.

The Body Language: I think that my language Is sufficiently clear and precise. Therefore, easy to understand.

The Structure: The structure that I have followed, Is the usual, Introduction, Index, Parts of the Research Project: firstly the theoretical part and secondly de practical part. And finally the Conclusion.

The Content : I think it Is a fairly complete presentation. B

ut anyway, I had to have given more information about the practical part of my project.

The Language: I think that the grammar was correct but there is always an error.

The Pronunciation: I think that the pronunciation Is good. It must be said that I have improved regarding the previous quarter.

In conclusion: I think that this presentation has helped me a lot.

First of all, I've improved my way of speaking, the last quarter I was talking very fast, but this quarter, I know when I need to take a break.

On the other hand, I have learned many things on how it was the life in the United States and other countries during the 20th century.

In conclusion, it was not easy to live in those years.

Oral Presentation

This first quarter I made the presentation alone. I decided to do it about Oscar Wilde, because  he is the author of Dorian Gray, book that we read in class recently.

In this Presentation: I used a Power Point, because when I present, It  was always has good graphics, and It easy to work with this.

The Body Language: In my view I think our language Is sufficiently clear and precise.

The Structure: The structure that I have followed, Is the usual, Introduction, Index, The body and finally the Conclusion.

The Content : I think it Is a fairly complete presentation.

The Language: I think that the grammar was correct.

The Pronunciation: I think that the pronunciation Is good,but a little bit fast.

In conclusion: I liked to make this presentation because now, I know more information about Oscar Wilde, both his personal life and the works he has done. Overall I consider it a great author and noted especially his courage.

The Health Benefits of Humour and Laughter

Laughter is very important in life because it's a medicine which relaxes the body, protects the heart and also dissolves distressing emotions.
Laughing is recommended, we can watch anything funny, make fun activities or play with a pet.
Laughter helps to a better relationship with people.
If someone cannot laugh, you can begin to do so by following a few small steps: first of all smile, also join funny people and especially provide humour in discussions.
This way you will begin to feel better and you will be happier.

Is humour necessary in our lives?

In life, laughter is strong medicine for mind and body because it strengtheng our immune system and boost our energy.
First of all, laughing relaxes the body and makes you feel good and for this reason you forget the bad moments and be more positive or happy.
On the other hand, there are people who don't laugh, they haven't got sense of humour.
I recommend them to learnt to smile, watch anything funny or read anecdotes, you can be happier.
In conclusion, do this if you want a good life and good moments, don't be stressed, always smile.

William Kamkwamba

William Kamkwamba is a boy who was born in Malawi. Malawi is a very poor country where science was mystery.
But William read a lot about windmills and he dreamed to built one of this.
With some scrap metal, tractor parts and bicycle halves he did it. This miracle changes the lives around him.
In conclusion, I think that the video I saw makes us think and never stop striving to meet our goals.
For this reason I think that impossible is nothing.

Dear Teacher

My goals for the future is first of all make an effort this year to pass the 2nd of Bachillerat and after do "Selectivitat" to decide what degree I will be going to do.
All this, deserves great continuos work because it is the last year.

This last part is the hardest for me because I'm a lazy guy and I always leave everything to the last moment. But this year I'll try to do it all in advance, to save work other days and have free time.
I have to be able to organize myself and I'm not used to. For this reason I have created a routine not to get confused.
In conclusion, giving the maximum to have a good future.

My Final Post

This year the group of English which has touched me have got  a high level. 
I think that I've adapted well and I would like to say that throughout the year, I had a very good time with them and I hope to continue enjoying the language with them next year. 
What I liked this year were the presentations that we have done because we have practiced and improved expression in English.
What I didn't like much were the essays that we have delivered, that's because almost every week we had to deliver a drafting and finally I just tired. 
Furthermore, I also liked doing the blog, I have shared many things in this blog and I have greatly improved the writing. 
In conclusion, what I would improve it wouldn't do so many essays and read more books, to see if we understand the language and history of the book.

Bullying

Of course, it's horrible on the victims self estreem.
But,I think that the "bully" also need care too.They are picking on someone and making that victim feel bad.
Bu
t usually, kids who bully are also being bullied somewhere else.Older sinlings,abusive parents.
What I mean is that something has got to be wrong if someone were to act so violent towards others.

So, I think that victims are victims...but bullies also are victims.I don't agree with shaming or punishing the bully, because they must be going through something tough as well. They may be showcasing it in a violent way,but they need help just as much as the victim.
I also think that victims need to understand how to react when being bullied. Telling a teacher or even just learning to ignore the bully.
I think schools and parents need to be more involved in a positive way. Promoting tolerance of color, religion,gender,sexuality,etc...
In my experience, most bullying cases have been solved with a slap on the wrist.

Film Review !

Below I will explain a movie I've seen since it is one of my favorites and sometimes when you have nothing to do, you decide to see this movie, that you like and never get tired of it.

21 tells the story of a young, brilliant MIT student who turns to counting cards in blackjack in Vegas with his lecturer and a group of fellow students to pay for his future in Harvard Medical School. Naturally, things turn sour, and our hero loses everything, including his friends and MIT degree and must fight to regain them.

Don’t take my opening comment the wrong way, 21 is not a bad film – it’s got a decent plot, a decent cast  who do a decent job and decent direction. But it’s also not a great film, because all of those things are decent, and not much more. It does make more of an effort to have a twist in the tail than I thought it might, which surprised me, but it does feel just a little overly-long at points in the middle.

All in all, 21 is worth the watch, but suffers from the same flaw that a lot of similar films suffer from – if the card counting system is made to look simple enough that you think you could do it yourself, it loses just a little of its pizzazz. On the whole, it’s probably worth the watch, but not essential

This third quarter I made the presentation with Jones Caspin and Saus Laura. We decided to do it about Italy, because is one of the most beautiful countries in the world

In this Presentation: we used a Power Point, because when we present, It  was always has good graphics, and It easy to work with this.

The Body Language: In my view I think our language Is sufficiently clear and precise.

The Structure: The structure that we have followed, Is the usual, Introduction, Index, The body and finally the Conclusion.

The Content : I think it Is a fairly complete presentation but It's a little bit short because we are 3 persons in the group.

The Language: I think that the grammar was correct.

The Pronunciation: I think that the pronunciation Is good, there Is always a word difficult to understand, but in generally quite clear.

In conclusion: I think we could have done a better presentation and a little longer, but overall we are pleased with our work.

Projects

Many students do not like doing exams, I'm one of them. And because of this, I will give my opinion about the projects that we do in the High School at the English Classroom.
First of all, I would like to say that making projects I like so much.
I consider positive the fact to do this and don't just use the book. So people have better marks and try to do a good project. This is because they like to do different types of work in class, because doing the book becomes a routine and it also becomes very boring over time.
For this reason, the people stop trying, thing which lead to fail more people.
But nevertheless, it would be nice to do the book to learn more about the conjugation of verbs, because it is one of the hardest things in the English Language.
In conclusion, the projects help us lose the shame and express ourselves, but on the other hand, the fact of using books also has a number of positives atributes.
